The performance numbers somehow do not reconcile with your statement.
DELL is up 15.9% for the year.
SUNW is up 248.0% for the year.

go one step further, what incentive does a ceo have, if he is a majority stock holder, to bolster the share price of the stock. management has more options then the typical employee, do they really care of the plight of the loyal shareholders who created the wealth for the option holders?

perhaps that is why you see the "hired gun" ceo's constantly touting and spinning, because their remuneration is not only based on corporate performance but share price.

just a thought to mull around...
