CNBC's reporting that @1pm, IBM, in a meeting with analysts, reiterated that their warning some months back about a Y2K slowdown (in fact, buying shutdown) was in fact happening now AND would continue into the 1st qtr 2000

I can't remember where I saw this, either on line or in a pub like _Business Week_ but I read that IBM's server sales (RS/6000 and S390) were waayyyy off. I think they're just blaming Y2K and hoping folks believe them. Could be that's what's happening now.

Just a guess and apologies for no pointers.
