"Virtually every major financial institution is interested in joining." Great idea. They could call it something cool, like "Integrion."

Oh, wait a minute. They already tried that...

...TransPoint,...have begun offering customers a way to pay all their bills over the Internet, even if some companies don't offer electronic bills.

Would someone please show me where TransPoint offers a "pay anyone" service on their website...I am unable to find it...I think someone is fibbing...

Well, folks, congratulations to all of you who held on. Haven't read the thread for a while, but I think I got caught-up by reading the last 40 posts. While there is plenty of reason for cheer, I think these words by PS may prove more significant than most here are willing to admit.

It's also worth noting that all three of Spectrum's original member banks have used CheckFree to provide online services but have yet to renew their contracts, according to CheckFree's Sinisgalli.

Remember from the annual report:

We rely on our relationships with three key financial institutions for a substantial portion of our subscriber base and the volume of electronic transactions that we process. As of June 30, 1999, these three financial institutions accounted for approximately 1.4 million subscribers, or approximately 50% of our total subscriber base.

If the "big three" jump ship, it could get ugly. Not to mention, why didn't the "big three" get stock options as a reward for new subscriber gains, as BankOne did?

Finally, at least CheckFree is realistic (again from the annual report). I read this as "don't get cocky."

In addition, the stock market has experienced significant price and volume fluctuations, which have particularly affected the trading prices of equity securities of many technology companies. These price and volume fluctuations often have been unrelated to the operating performance of the affected companies.

Wishing I still held some CKFR, but content with my decision to sell. Good luck to you all,

Erik
