>>>If the "big three" jump ship, it could get ugly.

First off the 3 banks in spectrum I don't believe account for all of the '3' in the annual report. I believe BoA and WFC are 2 of the 3 in the annual report (not sure about the third, Chase?). Second, if these banks jump ship, where are they going to jump ship too? Spectrum doesn't have 'pay anyone' and doesn't plan to add payment capabilities to their 'E-Bill' until 2nd Q 2000 (and that is if they don't push back the date). and don't forget Scale, Scale, and Scale.

I do agree with "don't get cocky." CheckFree needs to work harder than ever to get banks and billers up and running.

<<t's also worth noting that all three of Spectrum's original member banks have used CheckFree to provide online services but have yet to renew their contracts, according to CheckFree's Sinisgalli.>>

I don't believe the multi-year contracts Checkfree has with First Union and Wells Fargo have come up for renewal yet.
However, do believe the contract with Chase may be coming up for renewal soon. That should be a very interesting negotiation. I wish I were a fly on the wall and could hear the Chase people present Checkfree their contractual demands at this point in time.............

<<These price and volume fluctuations often have been unrelated to the operating performance of the affected companies.>>
<<I read this as "don't get cocky.">>

One could also read it as ""Don't panic"

<<content with my decision to sell.>>

I don't feel the same way and am thinking of holding a memorial service for every share I sold.*

*(Just kidding in case that statement comes back to bite me)
