The fascinating thing, to me, is how they can "date" the writing based on the words that are used. At any rate, if the Gospel of Luke was written in 80 AD, that would be 84 to 86 years after the birth of Christ ~ although the "L" source that is mentioned must be earlier.

But, I think it makes sense that the Gospel would be rewritten to make it seem like Jesus was the Messiah of the prophecies - people always like to revise history. I am reading a so-called biography of Jean Lafitte, it amazes me how he is a hero now, when he was nothing more than a smuggler, pirate and slaver who wanted to defeat the British because they threatened his livelihood. I don't think it's generally well-known that Jim Bowie and Jean Lafitte worked together smuggling slaves into this country after the importation was banned in 1808.
