Jim Bowie grew up in Louisiana, and later moved to Texas. He engaged in the slave smuggling business in both places. Lafitte also left Louisiana in the 1830's, and set up his operation near Galveston.

John says that Jesus arranged for Mary to adopt John on the cross, and vice versa. They supposedly went to Ephesus (Diana of the Ephesians was a Vrigin Goddess who assimilated the Virgin Mary). Then her cottage got translated to Loretto. Somewhere in there she got assumed. We really need much better documentation.

To separate these two unrelated (!) subjects. I read somewhere years ago that the law required that illegally imported slaves when seized had to be auctioned by the federal marshal for cash. Bowie would smuggle in the slaves, denounce them to the feds, then buy them at auction because he had cash, and then legally resell them. Maybe Cobe knows something of this.
