trust me.. you're not a 'little guy' if you can afford to have 11 accounts each with enough to buy LNUX at 100 shares at 30 = $3,000 x 11 accounts.. $33,000

I barely had enough to cover LNUX.. 1 account.. i'd love to have multiple accounts.. but that would mean funding each acct with at least $2000 to $3000 ... dont have it..

maybe someday though. but i know what you mean $100,000 or less is still 'little' when it comes to comparing yourself against the deep pockets that normally get IPOs..

so let's just say that us "micro little guys" have barely a prayer of ever getting a good IPO.. but I am truly happy for you all... I dont wish Etrade to not do IPOs.. and I'd probably have a different tune if I was getting them all the time.. or even sometimes.. so it's all relative.. but I do think there's some obvious flaws in their "random allocation" process... after all, etrade tells me that as a platinum member.. I'm a "preferred" customer.. and so I expect to get treated like one.. and if their process allows me to get skipped time after time while other regular accounts get IPOs.. then I have a problem with that..

especially when the solution is so simple.. limit the randomizer to platinum accounts that have not gotten an IPO within 30days.. then after that.. do a complete random search for any shares left over... I'd rather be systematically guaranteed 12 IPOs a year rather than systematically PROBABLE that I could end up with nothing for 25 years -- here's hoping things improve for all of us left in the dust

jim

ps.. for those who got LNUX.. Good Lord.. please sell your stock and go do something incredibly nice for your entire family this Christmas... and put half away into savings or something for the future .. lest you try and gamble it away tomorrow by getting over confident... I once hit it big on a stock.. saw my portfolio run from a few thousand to $45,000 in few weeks... friends of mine did the same only theirs went to over $150,000... I didn't sell because I wanted to catch up with them and I believed the PRs that some penny stock scam companies were spewing out... a few weeks later I lost it all and filed Ch7..

Luck has much less to do with it than increasing the odds.

<and yes I was lucky enough to get Linux today.> You stated you have six accounts, your odds were 6 times greater than myself (1 account) at allocation. congratulations, quite a gainer.

I was not allocated CHINA, RHAT or KANA (which I would have held, no-brainer on these). You did. Again luck, has little to do with it, multiple accounts is the determining factor.

If you have 6 accounts, you must have access to 6 SS #'s, hummmm, does this qualify you as a "little guy" or a methodical "little guy". Most "little guys" I know have enough $ for one account maybe two accounts, most all only have a retirement account.

Best Regards,

Kaliico
