People are people. It is a dangerous world out there. Well said runner... It's a gddmn shame that there are the bad apples who go undisciplined. Or that the "good guys" go bad because of job stress. But like you aptly stated, when you work with the scum of the earth, it is difficult not to assimilate some of their characteristics. Man is a "rational" animal, with instinctual programming that must constantly contained lest they fall back into primal rage. I doubt that any one of out here can state that they haven't found themselves at the mercy of an uncontrollable urge to beat the sh*t outta someone. I drive in DC, thus I have these urges several times a day.

Runner, Sheeple are sheeple, that's for sure! I grew up in a very tough area of the NY metro area. Got robbed, jumped by six guys once who took turns beating me on the head, a "best" friend even raped my wife, etc, etc, but it did not make me take it out on the others who I came across later in life. And this is exactly how police officers MUST think if they are to be professionals! I will agree with you that proper compensation for the work performed is of prime importance in the law enforcement field, and the more dangerous and or difficult the job is, the greater is the "reward" that the person deserves... Russia is a "basket case" unfortunately, and now they are at the insane point of murdering people in an ill-fated attempt to keep the rest of "Mother Russia" from crumbling apart... It is all very sad and extremely insane! Yogi
