A note from Bob B. in Louisiana reminded Bob Norman and I that it's Mutual Fund Distribution Time again. With AIM, you should be reinvesting your distributions when they come.

Within Newport the proper way to handle fund distributions is to bring up the fund in question and open the Maintenance window. In there, change the number of shares to the proper new total and save the change.

Next you should exit to the fund screen to the main menu. Open the Maintenance window and use FIX A PRICE to change the share price for that week to the distribution price.

Now you're all set. AIM and Newport will take care of all the rest for you. There will be a long vertical marker generated on the Line Graph to indicate when the distribution was made.

This is the same procedure that you would use if there had been a split in an individual stock.

Best regards, Tom

Thanks for the responses. I'm sure I'll have more questions once I start setting up the Newport accounts. unfortunately I have changed computers since I originally installed Newport. I now can't get it to reinstall. I am waiting for a response back from Newport support.
