Yes I did enjoy both Tornado and Chasm.

I think the fundamental point being 'filling the demand as fast as you can' is valid and applies to CREE's case at this juncture. That is not the same as 'create more demand that you are unable to fill'. This new demand might just be filled by a competitor (as predicted in the collection of manuals).

Better to maximize income; pay crews to work around the clock to build the fab; pay a premium to accelerate tool shipments; and what ever else is necessary to get that capacity on line fast.

Of course there is always the possibility of a strategic reason, which I hope is the case.
