Fire up your search engines! Forget "Linux". The next mania is "spinoff". <g> MRVC and ORTL exploded to new highs on high volume in the last 2 hours of trading today. MRVC started a bit earlier than ORTL. Near term, MRVC will be doing a spinoff/IPO of Optical Access and Hyperchannel. Charlotte's Web, Zuma and New Access will likely follow. Tellium, 18% owned by ORTL, a likely near future IPO and it seems possible ORTL would choose to spinoff all or part of the shares to their stockholders. If anything most of the other optics and networkers were down today with no others that I looked at mimicking in any way the end of day blast-off of MRVC and ORTL. Just flipped over to the ORTL thread. Pat Mudge and others are starting to discuss possible combos of ORTL and MRVC. I don't think so. I think something common to both was noticed externally and this triggered the buying in both. Spinoffs is my stab in the dark. quote.yahoo.com The 10 day chart is surprisingly similar.
