Cha2,

A quick run-down of the details that motivated me to sell two of the four stocks in the Game:

1) Clarify was a chimp that had little chance of becoming the gorilla. Chimps are to be held lightly. However, because of its successful turn-around, the stock had become a large percentage of the portfolio. So I sold some of the stock resulting in a smaller position. I used the funds to buy equal amounts of Remedy and Siebel, Remedy being a chimp in a niche market which is second only to a gorilla and Siebel being the most likely candidate for gorilladom.

2) When the announcements were made that Clarify and Vantive would be acquired, I sold all the shares of both. I haven't done anything with the funds which represent about 15% of the portfolio value. I'm considering adding marketing automation software to the game as a third segment of the front office game. (Siebel represents the CRM suite segment. Remedy represents the internal help desk segment.)
