Stock Options: <<anyone else concerned about the absurd amount of stock options (11,900,000 at around $5.00) being issued to senior executives of E*TRADE. The cost of these options will severely decrease future earnings. Are common shareholders of this company being played for fools >>

The shareholders are being played as fools by most any company that doles out these options. But the shareholders seem not to care and/or they don't even take the time to read about the options grants in the annual reports. They just blindly vote yes as told by management as long as all is well. Not that a mere small shareholder vote would do any good since all the mutual funds vote their shares with management.

So of course the stockholders are played for fools. Just as they should be until they wake up and put an end to the excess.
