That was the direction I was hoping the whole thing would head, BUT, one should never underestimate the desire to tax.
Under the broader tax situation, another issue comes to mind, Ron. There are cases where the dotcoms obtain the use of services from the tax dollars spent on more local businesses. Perhaps the most clearcut example is the on-line grocer which has employs local workers(which use local services) but does not support the local infrastructure via tax$ collected. The neighborhood florist is another example when the sale made & delivered on-line garners no tax, but the walk-in or phone order delivery business gets taxed.

The dotcoms being taxed with-in the current tax environment & lower margin availability, the narrow dotcom & tech only market could be in for a major hurt.
