Always talk to Matt, your then getting it from the horses mouth, he is the head trader for us.
Matt and I talk quite often. His right hand man is Craig, he was a little under the weather today.
Both of these guys are good.

Vital... my understanding was a little different... you make it sound as if the shares have to be there prior to them entering your order.

My understanding was that they would place your order at the closing price and the exchange would then attempt to match it.... but that doesn't mean there have to be shares on the ask in advance (if you are trying to buy).... they should enter your buy order and then if bids come along great... if not it doesn't get filled.

Also... what was that about having to phone before 4:00?? You should be able to get an order taken right up to 5:00 (allowing a few minutes for entry of course).

What can I say everybody! I am officially trading thru Schwab tomorrow. I am still parking a lot of my longs with TD Waterhouse but my active account will be thru my Schwab account. I will give my un-biased scoop on how things are moving with Schwab. Here is something interesting I learned today: Entering orders thru PC Quotes can be a little un-stable as they use two different links. Anyway, I like how simple it was place an order tonight. User friendly interface and the best thing is you can short a stock on-line without having to call in like TD to check if they have the stock to short which would take 10 minutes!

Please note that Charles Schwab Canada has been experiencing delayed fill reporting by The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE) due to TSE software upgrades and application problems. These delays occur randomly, and may cause a fill to be reported 3 to 8 minutes after the original fill time. This issue is affecting a number of Investment Dealers trading TSE equities. Our Trading Desk is addressing this issue diligently, and we have been assured that the TSE is working on resolving the problem. We appreciate your patience, and will keep you notified of further developments.
