Barry, Re: "AMD trying using humor to sell speed didn't impress me but I'm biased. Any other opinions?"

I think it's funny, cracks me up, especially when the chunky guy is finally frantically waving his arms to make the train stop. Besides humor, it uses some serious, how do I put it, jiggle?

Barry - Re: "A guy is told to choose a pc to save him from having a train run right through his office. He chooses the "slower" Pentium pc and the train devastates him and of coarse the voice says he should have chosen the "faster" Athlon."

I saw this many times - the GEEK keeps shouting ATHLON !ATHLON ! while the train crashes into the guy - and as I said before, 99% of the people watching the commercial must associate ATHLON with the train crashing !

Ergo - a lot of people will view this as an ANTI-ATHLON commercial !

Yes. I thought Intel had the worst commercials until I saw that one. It's worse than anything Intel has done. I think many people might be left with the association of Athlon and trainwreck because that's the last impression the viewer is left with. Hope AMD isn't reading this and they keep running the same commercial.

Barry, <AMD trying using humor to sell speed didn't impress me but I'm biased. Any other opinions?>

I'm biased, too, but I thought Apple's commercials were a lot better in making a point than AMD's. Because of the cluttered speech, that announcer on the Athlon commercial sounded way too much like a used car salesman. (Any relation to Jerry Sanders?)

Random thought: I wonder if Jerry Seinfeld is up for doing a commercial for Intel.
