I am not sure if this is true. In the last day or so evidence has been mounting that a quarter end slow down may be happening. AMD is discounting Athlons for resellers, Intel chipsets are supposedly piling up in Taiwan. Niles and others have warned that business folks have gone into Y2K lockdowns.

All indicators of possible demand problem - especially on the business side. AMD's lack of exposure to that segment may be good news for a change.

Guy called David Steinem on CNBC just said he doesn't think Intel will make their earnings this qtr, due to problems with high end chips -- not shipping -- and Rambus screwup. Says will also hurt Dell......

Did not say (though we know) how much this helps AMD!
