Tech bubble could disappear very quickly. I want shares in the company that buys NN so the acquirer shares can go up for a couple years. Do you seriously believe that NN can do this on its own? I suggest it is already proven that they cannot. Just look at how they have completely squewed up in the past, not once, not twice, ....

As my Pappy used to say: "Greed breeds need."

I can't believe how much this thread has deteriorated. Pat where are you ??

Are we just going to let TA and ZO speak uncontested ?

OK, here's a reality check for whoever's left.

NN bet the farm on ATM. They sold off their crown jewel (Cambrian) for 3 hockey sticks and a dozen pucks to Nortel. They made soem management changes and proceeded to severely over-estimate the ATM market. They then missed 5 of the last 8 quarters and Lutz got canned. Wallstreet wants more blood than that.

In the meantinme, LU, NT and CSCO have been building up complete arsenals of gear that carriers will need. This includes Ethernet switches, routers, DWDM, Sonet ADMS, service selection gateways, dial access servers, xDSL gear, etc.

NN has the 36170. Time to sell, and IMO NN is worth $35-$45 share. But they sure as hell can't survive alone.

Cheers,

Peppe
