update Web giant Yahoo and retailer Kmart are expected tomorrow to announce a partnership to provide a co-branded free Internet access service, sources familiar with the deal confirmed today.

The service will be offered through a planned Kmart e-commerce site dubbed Bluelight.com and will be powered by Spinway, a free ISP with funding from Masayoshi Son's Softbank and Seagate founder Al Shugart, the sources said.

Z,
It all comes down to where you think an image of you, mom and your grandmom at the family reunion would be more secure. On your disk drive or at the mythical "mypictures.com".
In my world "mypictures.com" wins hands down. This assumes, of course, that I can access and distribute, edit, update and manipulate at will and at any time at minimal cost and that others can access my finished and desired image at any time.
In my world, "mymovies.com" is just an extension of capability with editing and storage done on-line with proprietary tools of the web host. It all boils down to transfer speeds and concentrating complexity on the network instead of the desktop.

Then again, in my world, I'm blowing lunch into the toilet,

Paul
