For some reason Greg, who is a very smart investor and whose moves I tend to watch, likes to contemplate "lower lows" and what those descending lows might be whenever our favorite stocks retrace. I'm not sure why. Don't let it get you too worried. As you notice he says weeks not days. I hope he's wrong but weeks isn't too bad.

As JDSU goes down it builds resistance, making the eventual recovery to new highs a longer process. Since the company is constraint in filling orders, and the method to attain manufacturing has been acquisition, defending the stock would seem to be important to their strategy, if I was the CEO, I would do so. I'm not talking hype news releases, that I would be counter productive in the long term. If they are holding anything back waiting for the after the split I would move the release up.
