i agree. I think people pay for aol's media service
but not internet access. we should separate access
service and media service. one pay aol to get both.
this means that maybe aol itself should roll out free internet access but charge if one wants to use their homepage. that will put this free access war to the end. I suspect this way, aol may get actually boost from more free access offers: people could save access fee for aol's media service.
for example, if one is a mature internet user, he/she
may only need an internet access but not media service
so he/she would choose to use cheaper access than aol. however, if he/she could get free access, he/she could want to put current pay to aol to get their media service. people are willing to pay once for both access and media.
