Jill: Don't disagree that Palm will be an excellent IPO buy. And its future is very likely excellent.

But, suggest that it is not alone and not a king and certainly not a gorilla. Far from it.

Palm has a very limited system within it. It has a huge lead in the marketplace because of its simplicity and the huge number of companies who supply means of using it imaginatively.

Suggest you also look at Phone.com which is the creator of WAP.

Also PSIOF (Psion) which is the intellectual element in Symbian.

Phone.com supplies a mini browser.

Psion (and therefore Symbian) supplies a mini operating system.

Each in its own way is much more powerful than Palm.

Best.

PS COMS (3 Com) is interesting right now not only because of Palm but also its work with the Q on the wireless/internet nexus in general.

COMS is a sleeper IMO. It has had very very bad performance for the past few years.

COMS seems to be awakening from what seemed a deep sleep.

Always has had excellent products from the old US Robotics, but the junk within it and the lackluster management have held it back.

It may be emerging (but emerging from the swamp or muck ain't easy).
