Yup. Probably cheaper to replace the mobo and CPU than forking over $$$ for tech support.

I suppose the warranty is out, taking Compaq's tech support out as an option.

Are you saying that memory can go bad? FWIW, his memory has been working for over a year with no problems.

If you can, try removing some of the RAM. It could simply be a bad RAM module.
