Jim, i840 mobo's have two RAMBUS channels.
Advantage: higher maximum data rate
Disadvantage: you need to install RAMBUS in pairs and higher cost.

There are two OR840 motherboard distributors listed on pricewatch, at about $305.

tomshardware.com has a review of the OR840 motherboard out today. On certain benchmarks and games it beats the i820 motherboards (RAMBUS) and the BX chipset motherboards (SDRAM) by over 20%.

I guess thats why Intel uses it for SPECint and SPECfp.
