I could not have said it better myself.

I am sitting here in shock...as it is not Christmas Eve and I have most of the children's gifts wrapped. I generally have them bought real early, and then seem to wrap them only hours before they will be unwrapped.

I just finished wrapping round 2. Have a bit more to go.....but am much further ahead than my normal.

I feel that your "desperate sense of urgency" sort of skirts the issue. Like the previously mentioned burning bed. Is my courting of decrepitation through total passivity ignoring a desperate sense of urgency? You cause me to scratch my head. gsm

<<My life story. If there isn't a desperate sense of urgency, I can't do anything. That sense of urgency gets me the adrenaline kick that I need to clear my thoughts and get off of my ass and do something.>>

I saw this and felt compelled to respond... I used to see my procrastination as a negative trait- but no longer! When that 'desperate sense of urgency' finally arrives, when things are on the verge of going all to hell, then, and only then, do I gather my forces and ACT. By this time, my simmering 'forces' have had time enough to come to a heady boil and I daresay are all the better for it. Kinda like weather systems gathering strength enough to burst into a hurricane or tornado. The amazing things I can accomplish with this released energy of pent of force allows me to accomplish super-human feats (IMO) I would not normally be capable of, in my quest to save my ass. Things like learning a semester's worth of french in a day before finals... believe me, fear of having gone too far, procrastinated finally too late, really pumps you up. So, I now regard my procastination as a positive quality!!
But, one day, I'll experiment with not procrastinating, just to see if things can go better that way, but not anytime soon...
