Eric: Another nutty day in the markets. I held my AMZN puts -- they are around break even. Naz up 93 points and AMZN still down on the day -- I would like to believe a down day will drive AMZN through the floor -- preferably tomorrow :)

I think that's a broad brush. Aren't there always signs of a mania in the market? Couldn't one find excessive speculative trends in the market during the gloomy years of 1973-74?

Do you realize we could be looking back five years from now, with the Nasdaq at 6400, and we'll have experienced ten years of growth at an average rate of 23% a year? And that we'd still average 11% share price growth over the coming five years?

But nobody knows if that will turn out to be an optimistic or pessimistic forecast. So choose your companies carefully...
