Hi fred,
Great detail on sbse price spike down. Thanks.

Don't get me wrong here - I'm not a manipulation conspiracy monger.I do think at times a holder of a large position will throw several thousand shares to the market makers (these guys desire to inventory nothing unless they have a home for it) - so their response is predictable take it down in small blocks at a price where they are willing to carry it(this insures a scalp at a later date).

After throwing a couple of thousand to the MM joe 6 pack gets scared and the original seller stands there with a bushel basket and buys back more than he sold at a lower price.(thusly volume goes up on the rebound). I can't prove it but I do think it is a trade technique that supports accumulation with out driving the price up.

Its called buying on the dips (it also includes creating the dip). Since my account size is that of a mere mortal I've never tried it I just like to ride on the coattails of the bigboys who do. JMHO
