Goutama, the EE Times article is mildly positive, but probably not enough to push AMD much past 30. There's a huge open interest of Dec 30 calls, most of them probably held by speculators. But if a lot of these were created by Yousef-types selling naked, a strong open could cause a panic closing of the short positions, driving the price up.

In general, though, I would expect the closing price to be 30, the nearest strike price.

I didn't find th EETimes article revealed anything new because we knew they demoed the 900 MHz at Comdex. The most positive thing is the last line:

"Through next year, we will have the fastest processors available," said the spokesman.

Goutama,

<Can you or others on this board comment on how the news from Kash's post would effect the stock tomorrow? I have a good load of AMD Dec. 25 calls, and I'm looking for good timing to dispose them tomorrow. TIA>

I think what we are seeing is typically what happens on any options expiration. AMD is probably pinned to 30. On the otherhand, there is a decent chance that some PR from AMD could happen and that could kill the options guys depending on 30 pin. Any such PR should come into effect no later than lunch Sunnyvale time so hard to tell if it will or will not happen today.

Typically the safest bet is to sell at the open but I guess that is behind us now. Just my 2 cents.
