Steve,

>>MSFT......but was waiting for the gap at 85 to fill. My bet is it will fill.

I too wanted 85, but got nervous, decided 87 was close enough and loaded up on 11/15. I should have displayed more patience as I would have gotten that price shortly thereafter--just before the gap that you speak of, I believe. But, right now I am thinking, "what the hey...what's 2 points among friends?"

Regardless, I am a novice with this gap stuff, but I will take your bet (unless you are talking about post-split. <gg>)

Hi Steve! Er, I mean Gap Man. <ggg> That gap was the day the mediator was appointed in the MSFT case. If you believe (and I do), that the Market HATES uncertainty and also that it is a forward-looking mechanism, then you have to believe that 11/22 was a pivotal day. The big worry with MSFT was that this thing would drag on and on with the DOJ trying to inflict maximum pain on MSFT, while Bill, with $$$ to burn, was going to fight them off until this was a moot point - in other words, months, if not years of "uncertainty." Now, however, it appears that things are moving along and maybe this won't be such a big deal after all. The LINUX craze, of course, is helping the MSFT case. Now, there's been talk of a settlement, which, BTW, caused the BO above 100. In that event, how bad can it be for MSFT? Soooooo the uncertainty is dissipating and the future looks pretty darn good. Add Windows 2K to that and there it is. No, I do not think MSFT will fill that gap even though it has always filled them in the past. MSFT changed its gap filling habits when Bill changed his glasses.
