Why are you telling Daniel to buzz off?

Because he simply carried on with the personal emotional reaction to the issue without dealing with the question of whether we accept study findings because they suit our own beliefs, regardless of the statistical integrity of the studies, and whether we accept abstracts that accord with our own beliefs without checking the methodology behind the abstracts.

Once again and growing tired of explaining this: I do not believe in corporal punishment for children. However, some of the work that I have seen that supports my own personal beliefs is statistically poor, so I have learned to question the stats before accepting the findings in an abstract--no matter how much I may personally agree with the findings. This is not a matter of being "liberal" or not; it is the foundation of scholarship.
