Edwarda, what Daniel was saying was very logical to me. If you believe in your heart that hitting children is just simply and absolutely wrong because it is violent and horrible and causes pain, then whether there is an argument about statistics and the research studies so far is simply irrelevant. Personal emotional reactions often offer much more clarity than clinical trials do.

Daniel wasn't even talking to you when you responded by telling him to buzz off. It seemed like you were just picking a fight, polarizing everything as much as possible. I think everything might get a little mellower around here if people stopped attacking others simply because they belong to different camps.

Edwarda, as I posted to Rambi, the last serious post on the matter I made was Message 12269779 . I don't think that post was particularly emotional or anything, maybe a little long winded.

Meanwhile, you, and Michael M, and Ish probably, and Neocon at endless length, and who knows who else has gone on about how the research is all bunk, you know without even looking at it. You think calling that the "research is bunk" argument is a personal emotional reaction? Ok, I guess you believe, with Michael M, that you know the FACTS without even looking at the research. That's cool. You can find endless posting in that vein from the guys on Sanity, or the Bush thread, or Neocon's "Lion" thread. Or, look back to yesterday afternoon when Bill Vaughn took Bob's mild comment as an occasion to go off and dig up an old post of Christine's to start a political tirade, all the way up to the FACTual "Clinton is like Hitler" canard. You like those guys, I don't, that's life.
