What of the newbie trader home from work the day after Thanksgiving who bought ADSP in the 30s, 40s, or 50s? There is little chance that ADSP is ever going to trade at those levels again. Is it so tough to really try to help create, rather than destroy?" An interesting fallacy that short sellers 'destroy', when actually a short sale preserves wealth. BEOS opened yesterday with a market cap of 1.34 billion, and closed with a market cap 30% lower. That money would have simply evaporated were it not for the short sellers, and the price would likely have fallen lower. Would BEOS have gone higher if there were no shorts? Perhaps. I'm just not sure how anyone can claim that the buyers at an extreme peak don't get hurt when paying an unsustainably high price in the midst of such a run. BEOS may make it back to the 40s, it's not as cut and dried in my mind as ADSP. I'd also like to know how longs 'create'. Unless buying into an IPO or secondary offering, none of the money goes to the company. In a healthy market, the creation of wealth, i.e. shareholder value, comes from the company itself, and is reflected in the stock price. The stock price does not 'create' anything in a healthy market, but rather reflects that which is being created. Similarly, trading a security in the secondary market does not 'destroy'. The destruction of shareholder value comes from inside the company. Yes, perhaps I am indeed a nattering nabob of negativity. I find it much easier to identify extreme tops and sell them short than to buy long. I doubt that makes me a negative person. Yes, I enjoy seeing a stock that I've shorted do a waterfall decline, but that's because my analysis of the security is being validated by the market. I doubt my pleasure in seeing BEOS plummet from the open was any different that that experienced by ESHR longs when that name ran from 8 to 19. I really think it's silly to differentiate between folks for the simple reason that they buy to close instead of buying to open. There can be no valid argument that short sellers should be quiet little mice and not voice their opinion. Is it just annoying to the longs that shorts make their opinion known because they want to sell at higher prices? What of the folks to whom they sell? Will a stock continue to increase in price forever if no one mentions its short comings? Would BOST be trading over 200 now if the shorts hadn't pointed out the monkey business going on there? Perhaps BXMNF, SOLV, IRID, SEXI and IDID would never have hurt the fools who went long if only those 'destroying' shorts had kept their mouths shut. Regards, Barb

<We, regardless of long or short, are here for one reason ..... to make money. >. you know trader J , in my short career as an investor trader, I've learned so many wonderful things thru research and dd of the marvelous technological drama unfolding before our eyes.The wonder of an ever expanding worldwide web and the burgeoning B2B world, that in the end will produce the way we live....for the better. thru the halls of SI , YHOO, and throughout the internet , there are these "players" that think the game is all about "winning", dominating ,crushing, gaining ect. There are those who have the talent....& that imagine, create, and produce the ideas and help give birth to the advances, that still astound me every day I wake, that were only a dream a handful of months ago, in the world of data/media flow and covergence....and the Bio-technologys...Things that will rock the world in a very short time , and already have produced wonderful changes... takes alot of different kinds of people to produce these kinds of changes, and many i would suspect who contribute the most, may not even have a -->trading account....well maybe.:-) but there are so many i have encountered here as an investor / too often a trader, that have some fantastic view of the world that is contained in a little formaldhide jar, they think proves their existence....because they made a "killing", or live for such, shorting some stock too death, and added 0's to their trading accts. I get very bored entirely always with the wonderful little POS's the shorts have taken down and exposed as frauds or deserved to get crushed. That's fine and a healthy trimming of the hedge, and taking out the garbage. I admit to playing ASDS and CRYS , BEOS and a few others , but that kind of thrill has lost it's luster for me for now . I am a bit tired of those kinds of really extreme artificial plays that become sore spots on everyone's memories. Too much extreme involvement and attention wasted . The strutting and negative performances I've seen happen to often on some of these momo's, have taught me to seek greener, more productive pastures. I've met or observed quite a few interesting people here on SI like you , Kimberly, A&P, TokyoBurrito, Ms X, Jenna, Pinkie, Goldilocks (I mean Golfinger...I mean Goldfingerer...oh what the hell--->odd job) and many others short and long ...without any of which---> the universe of building a super world wide web will continue, regardless. Just gets tiring to here about the Shorts vs the Longs here, that prey upon each other's picks in the limited playground of investing.... just hope everybody got some CMRC and ARBA in their long trading portfolios! *my good fortune as an investor was 500 shrs each of QCOM @ $89 and HD @ $50 last Jan.... ---->I like the feel and the fundies for ESHR, played it for 2 on friday on Kim's thread, and after more dd, bought more after hours. Looks like a very nice candidate for growth and gain. Nice to see how that interesting find turns out. good trading,(great thread) :-) 2MAR$
