Re: Webnode "honored" as event of the day on 4/1/99 by ICWhen.com

APRIL (1999)
- On Thursday, April 1, April Fool?s Day, Business Wire, a business oriented press release hub, distribute, what they believe, is a legitimate announcement of a new online investment opportunity for a company named WebNode (www.webnode.com). According to the release, the company had won a government contract to raise $4 billion in a bid to build a better Internet. Almost 2,000 inquiries were generated by the release that later turned out to be a practical joke. Mr. Jeffrey Mitchell, Mr. William Ulrich and Ms. Anice [sic] Shell paid Business Wire $260 to issue the release and were later sued (Monday, April 26) by Business Wire alleging trademark violations, fraud and breach of contract as well as defamation and conspiracy.
