<<I was struck with the idea of wondering just what are the types of things children are in a position to know better than the adults given the responsibility of raising them.>>

Well, children certainly feel horrible when they are hit. They know that they hurt, and are confused, frightened, and have anger all mixed up with the love and trust they have for adults. Is there some positive to this kind of trauma that I am missing? Do you believe that the way a child feels is insignificant in good, healthy development? Is there an automatic presumption that a responsible adult would hit a child to be a good parent?

It's a free country, Mike. You can like anyone you want to. Some of my friends cannot stand each other, and it doesn't seem to matter much in the long run.
