Thank you for the offer of sherry and fruitcake. Good fruitcake is, well, good. I start drawing the line in the area of green jello.

Thank you also, for the kind words. Now I am beginning to worry that Battle and Marsalis may tax you. I am very fond of it..... Worry, worry, worry..... If this concerns you a great deal, there are some wonderful songs (not the slightest hint of yodeling) on the "Solid Ground" CD with Dolores Keane. "Emigrant Eyes" alone worth the price of admission -- maybe others.

Keane has a beautiful Irish lilt, so it's possible Mr. Christine would like. You can sample some cuts of this on Amazon. I have browbeat a number of people into buying it and all were more than pleased.

On the subject of "who the children belong to" -- the question that presents itself is -- If not the parents, then who?

As long as I'm recommending stuff left and right to you, I might as well ask if you've ever read "Eleni". A true account by Nicholas Gage of his own family's fate and the taking of children by "the state". Highest praise from NYT Review of Books and others. Published 1983.

If you must disagree with me on this, or other subjects, please do so tonight. Tomorrow is my birthday and I expect a pass from everyone. Or else!

Raining on Hilton Head tonight. Think I'll buzz over to Casey's and watch extremely tall people make millions of dollars on one or more of the advertised 50 televisions.

Guten Abend -
