I don't think it is exactly the same thing, X. I was saying that if you really believe in your heart that hitting children is wrong, then arguing about research studies on how much damage is done is irrelevant. The result is a child that is not spanked. I don't see anything harmful in that.

How is that like abortion?

Very well stated, X. You have expressed my sentiments exactly. I have very strong personal convictions, but I do not feel at all comfortable having my convictions enacted into law without more than my own emotional reactions as justification.
