some input please from regulars as well as lurkers

first, what are the market hours next 2 weeks, both Fridays, closed, short, or normal hours?

main topic is how will y2k impact the market, if at all, and what are all here doing with your trades + portfolio

in past years, dogs have stayed down or gone lower cause of tax loss selling
many people have huge gains and tax hits due and will want to take losses to offset
will the dogs give an early "Jan effect" pop or stay down till 12/31?

huge gainers have tended to stay up or go higher
people do not want to take more profits and pay ever more 99 taxes
funds want them up as high as possible so their YE #'s look great
then the first week in Jan we have often seen a 5-10% selloff in them
as people/funds sell into the new tax year
ditto again this time?

most of us do not think that y2k will be the end of the world as we know it
but
some say stay off your computer for 2 days
some will no fly
some worry about terrorism
etc
etc
but many part time day traders will be at home
with fingers on the stock buy/sell button
what impact, if any

I guess I'm just pondering on what the "unwashed mob" may be thinking and how if at all this should impact what we "full timers" do over the next few weeks

please post a brain dump or two on this
thanks

ESHR

will you be selling into the gap up ... if there is one on Monday?

has Anthony@Pac already taken the money and run?

did Tokeo pump it?

those are the questions I ask myself ... about a stock that has doubled on minimal news

it's just has all the right ingredients for the perfect for a pump n dump.

If I don't ask myself those questions, I would be a fool
