"Shaw justified the increased spending on its Internet network by saying it believes penetration levels of 30% to 40% are achievable in the next few years."

Hi Jay- Wow, those are incredible percentages. No one really knows the potential of cable broadband. Time will tell. I always thought we should be able to do better than the single digit percentages. To get to the 30-40%, there will need to be price cuts, or people will have to be convinced that it's a "gotta have" like Pokemon.

Cable service spreading worldwide. ICAB is scheduled to unveil their cable internet service for their market (Hong Kong) in early Y2K.

Maybe they should get together with ATHM. ATHM international team must not off the ball with open access US problems. The world is open for business but if the snozze look for MSFT to leap frog ATHM.
