TA,

Nice story.

As you probably know, BCE, which owns 80% of Bell Canada since it sold 20% to Ameritech for $5.1B, has a substantial position in NBTEL which it is in the process of increasing through its bid for some of the shares of Aliant.

NBTel has frequently pioneered services which have been subsequently rolled out to other BCE telcos.

Ian.

Tunica: Very encouraging for NN.

However for the NSP, I am not sure how many Consumers will spend another $30/pm for convenience and speed.

Telecom Services will more likely model after the P.C industry where greater clock speed and effeciencies have actually led to falling prices and excess manufacturing capacity. This is partially evident by the fall in rates for
all types of Broadband services.

In the next few years , squeezed light transmission and optical teleporting switches are also going to help reduce cost.

Looking at what Cisco bought tonight and what Nortel bought last week, I doubt if Terry's selling for much less than 10 billion, if that. Much as I'd like a Christmas windfall, I don't care. NN is going up.
