We watched the Christmas Story last night (for about the 400th time). We watch it every year after we decorate the tree and sing carols and drink eggnog. Starting around age 13, the boys rebelled a bit about the traditions, refusing to always take part, but yesterday CW went out and rented it. HIs girlfriend, who was with us, had never seen it and he told her that it was part of our traditions and we had to watch it! He dictated the day- everything had to be right. It's funny how these things disappear and then re-emerge. Maybe it's leaving home that makes home start to have some importance.
So maybe you will find it hard choosing for a couple of years, but it's great that you are still doing it together. That's what seems to stick.

It isn't Disney- and I hear it is a little violent- but it is a sort of magical environmentalist film- sounds like it is sort of along the lines of the Ferngully the Last Rainforest- but it is supposed to be a very complex story. And of course the animation is described as top rate.
