John, RE:"re: "1. What is the high end of their guidance?"Message 12246764 re: "2. I don't know about aggressive but Intel is Scramblin', announcing chips "before their time". Intel "Scramblin", or Intel aggressive, pretty close to the same thing. I wouldn't want to compete with them either way. AMD has probably advanced from totally inept to mostly inept, and that's enough to set off alarms with Intel's paranoid culture. re: "I predict that only Dell will have 800s into the end of January." Yea, so whats your point? re: "They have been making a killing off it for many years" Finally you are getting it? Jim, buy some INTC, hold it for a long time, it's simple and it works. Today is a good opportunity." 1. Thanks, if Intel can pull off a good quarter without some fancy accounting practitices or sales of LNUX or RHAT etc. it will either be a wonder or be because demand for all chips has gone crazy. 2. Scramblin' vs Agressive. Could be construed as the same but I see scramblin' as having to make up for something in a hurry. Like a bad Floppermine release coupled with losing the Mhz lead to the Athlon. Sure din't allow Intel to take their sweet time with the Flopper release like they wanted. Reading your notes, we agree. 3. AMD inept. Amazing how someone can look inept when they lose the Mhz lead. I dare say AMD wouldn't have looked so inept all these years if they had faster chips than Intel, trying to catch up makes even Intel look inept. 4. May point about the 800s are that the release of the Flopper 800 now is an act of desperation. 1. To regain some lost Mhz pride and 2. Feed some high Mhz Floppers to key Tier one OEMs so they won't lose them to AMD... 5. Finally getting it? You have to be kidding. I've owned Intel on and off for many years. 6. Buy Intel now? I was hoping to get a better chance. Had the opportunity at 71 5/8 but didn't take it...I will own this stock again. Jim
