800 MHz AthWipers are being sampled - January 10 should be the launch date.

Apparently, AMD is also telling customers that it can get to 1 GHz with Aluminum/0.18 micron process - throwing another cloud of DOUBT and UNCERTAINTY about Dresden and the CopperTop process !

Looks like that Rotomola process may end up BITING AMD in the Butt-inski !

Even if it works, it may be UNNECESSARY. I think Intel predicted that !

Also, the AThWIPER "sweet spot" still seems kind of low - below 600 MHz as a matter of fact - maybe that reflects the older process - but so far, the high speed AthWIpers are less visible than an 800 MHz Coppermine.
