Robert,

You are correct. In reviewing the messages on this thread, Bill's previous thread, and others that I follow, it is clear that I could not have been aware of VLNC through anything that Bill wrote. Sorry, but I really don't keep track of where an idea comes from, especially one that is more than a year old.

In reviewing the boards, I can only guess that I first became aware of VLNC through the postings of Roger Babb. The first post on the topic was on November 26, 1998.

Message 6575125

Zeev Hed was also posting frequently at that time.

I opened my short position on December 2, at a price of 10 1/4.

I closed 25% of the position on July 7th, at 6 7/8. A bad mistake, which I recall Bill counseling against. (Again, might have been somebody else, but I don't think so.)

The remainder of the position was closed on October 8, as part of a seasonal "cleaning" of my short portfolio. (Buy in October, sell in May...) My average price was 5 3/8.

HOWEVER, EVEN IF I HAD SHORTED THE STOCK AT 7.5 AND HELD THROUGH TODAY, MY LOSSES WOULD STILL PALE IN COMPARISION TO THE GAINS ON NVLS BEFORE I GOT OUT OF BED THIS MORNING.

Which should tell you all you need to know about how much attention I think your stock is worth.
