Eternal Optimism and recent history can distort the clearest thinking minds. Past should NOT necessarily be projected ad infinitum into the future -- this kind of woolly thinking has gotten lot of great minds into lot of great problems! Especially when the nature of the market, technology, competition, and internal organization is about to undergo a PARADIGM shifting change like Cisco is about to experience. To say that Cisco has bought it's way in the Router market and therefore they can do the same in a completely different market with different type of competitors is a leap of faith that only the sons and daughters or cult followers make. Think about this --- past is no guarantor of future. Your crude analogy and obvious misplaced faith in everything Chambers/Cisco is doing may be supported by lot of assumptions which may or may not come to pass.
