Interesting differences between DJIA and NYSE monthly plots. Thanks for the info, Jack. November and April are the most curious differences. NYSE in November is notably stronger than DJIA, while April is notably stronger for DJIA.

Nonetheless, the DJIA study shows that you definitely want to be in the market every year in December and January, while my NYSE study says you definitely get into the market in November. For whatever explanation you want to give it, these are key months when every investor should be in the market.

Both agree that August - October have been pretty terrible in the past 2 or 3 decades. A good time to wait in cash for the better buying opportunities that follow.
