My best guess is that by Q4 of this year they will reach that 1.2G limit.

And instead of tweaking the core further they will run with an optimized front end in Q1 2001. Similar to the optimized front end they have been running on the 0.25 process. This should run at lower voltage /power and enable another 20% jump.
