Hi tejek:

Looks like GTW and Dell have been duped again...INTC can't produce the PWeeIII 733 without significant problems, yet somehow GTW and Dell have fallen for the promise that PWee 800's can be produced without at least as many snags as the PweeIII 733?

Hey Paul...Got that feeling that it's going to be a really big year for Axis...Might even leapfrog a few of the existing OEM's who seem to be currently stuck in the mud with wheels spinning but not much forward motion!

Doesn't seem that Dell and GTW understand that the OEM status quo can change with e-speed as the result of poor business decision making...The consumer now knows that the Athlon is the superior architecture and exhibits superior performance over the PWeeIII in any comparable system configuration and at a system price at least $200 less expensive...Just watch Axis pick up the void left by GTW and Dell...a void that will be short-lived when Dell and GTW realize that they, once again, have been duped into believing that the PWeeIII can keep pace with AMD's champion, the Athlon!

RE:"Please report here when your local Gateway Country Store has CuMine 800 systems in stock"...

Gateway country stores don't stock any PCs. They are just order takers.
I keep thinking that Intel twisted their arm again and nosed out AMD...

Jim

RE <<<Please report here when your local Gateway Country Store has CuMine 800 systems in stock.>>

Petz, spoke to a sales rep in the Tacoma GTW store; no display model; however, no restrictions on their lead sheets...meaning they can have a 800 MHz in the store within 8-10 business days.

Later I will check Dell and see what they say.
