Ant Man, I always have time and opinions. Though not as cheap as they were, the biotechs are still dirt cheap compared to other Nasdaq stocks. The science is starting to come together in several areas and these things could really take off with a few products in the market. You always have to be selective, but here are the ones I like the best right now:

Ligand, GZTC, GZTR, Biocryst, and, a bit off the industry, but close, Duramed and Vaso Tech. But I still think that one of the best ways to play the area is with HQH selling at a 30% discount to its Net Asset Value. Hard to beat that with a stick. HQL is nice, too, but the firm has already run a rights ripoff on HQH and I think it is a bit safer. There are many other cos. I like, but I would like to see the prices back off a bit before buying back in again. Such as Medarex and Incyte.

I haven't studied the new Genentech yet. I owned the old GNE before they were bought out and though I made a lot of money, I never forgave mgt. for selling out shareholders by renegotiating the deal with Hoffman-LaRoche a couple of years back. On this one, I know the science is terrific and I would have to look at the prospectus to see how the parent ripped off new shareholders before getting too excited. These guys are masters of allowing you to take the downside while they take the lion's share of the upside. So, I will have to do more investigation before jumping in.

Merry Christmas to you, too. I hope it's not too cold back there.
