Re: The RB WAVX Board...

In my daily reading of the WAVX RB board (and I DO read it daily), it's apparent to me that some of its longest denizens are a little tired now. I recognize these symptoms because... for a while... I was holding down this fort... pretty much by myself. At times it seemed as if I were posting DD in a dark hole. (Not whining, just observing.) I stuck to my policy (with only two exceptions) of NOT responding to shorts... and eventually they (or, more aptly, HE) sort of drifted away. (I think he saw me as being less than a worthy opponent... or, perhaps, he wanted to go after those posters who are more like opinion leaders.)

The SI board has, I gather, never been the epicenter of things WAVX.
Now, I see that it is very good that "we" have never been the epicenter of things WAVX.

IMHO, RB has been attacked by, maybe, two or three posters with multiple identities that have effectively clogged the stream with debris. They went after RB because they recognized, and rightly I might add, that it is the center of WAVX-kind. Indeed, the SmartMoney article confirmed that. (The SmartMoney article I think actually proved a bit corrosive to the RB folks. Some very notable posters weren't mentioned. And one very uninformed poster WAS. Plus, I think the article spent too much time focusing on the passion of WAVX-o-philes and too little time detailing the VERY SUBSTANTIVE reasons for their having invested in the first place. It is almost ironic--but predictable--that at, arguably, the zenith of the RB WAVX board's notoriety, all sorts of cracks and crackpots start appearing.)

Here is, FWIW, my suggestion to the weary longs at RB. Rather than abandon the post... with dramatic exits, i.e., "I'm going... no I'm REALLY going this time... I mean it... I'm coming back... but not before I REALLY, REALLY go for good... REALLY..." etc... take a break. Enjoy the holidays. There is soooooooo much to celebrate. Make a donation at charitywave.com. Or donate to the American Red Cross' International Response Fund to help the many who have lost their homes in the Venezuelan floods. Then, if the mood strikes you, come back. I know that my understanding of Wave Systems (the company) and WAVX (the stock) has been greatly enhanced by certain RB posters, most notably Big Tim (who seems tireless), Jesse, DooWop, MAMMON (had to add you this time... lest you feel overlooked), Weby, Crazy Larry, Barge, Trippi, DRM, and, of course, SDR.

Of course, I would welcome any and all WAVX-ers over here as well. But, as I don't think that will happen, I look forward to a rejuvenated RB in the New(s) Year. (And is there any doubt that, for WAVX holders, it's going to be a very newsy New Year?)

In any case, I am now more comfortable with my WAVX holdings than EVER before. Which is why I just rounded out my position.

Happy Holidays and My Best Regards,
