I have been sighing over Volvo 240s, like the one I gave my mother. Safe, cheap, reliable. I don't suppose they are cool. Much better cars than old VW Beetles. I had several VWs back in the old days, in retrospect they were awful. Perhaps if old Beetles can benefit from retro chic, old Volvos can, too.

A used Honda Civic DX hatchback is my #1 choice here.

I am at home today - Spouse got the flu from Heck, and so I'm chasing Helen around the house and making lots of Celestial Seasonings "Peepeetime" tea and stuff. Yahoo ain't loading, so I don't know if I'm rich yet.
